Teenager Blues

This article is basically for teenagers and parents of teenagers. Those residing with teenagers have a special responsibility that is sometimes overlooked. This responsibility is to be in alignment with the teenagers and be an inspiration (not motivation always) to them. Be a guiding factor and keep a tab on people surrounding the teenagers.
For those with teenagers:

Everyone should stay in tune with teenagers as most of the time it is believed that they are self-centered. Aligning will help in keeping the teens on track. Although teens may not be paying attention towards you, nevertheless they are watching their world closely and often form their foundational patterns from what they see and hear. If at any point of time, you are negative and blame everything on external forces, they won't be impressed by your good words about having a positive outlook and being the creator of your own reality. However, motivational words fail to do good if spoken by an uninspired teacher. Inspired actions from a right place will leave a lasting impression and help in creating a better future. One need not be perfect, but should be consistent enough in approach and in sync with self and subject.

For teenagers:
Being a teenager, you are really in a very powerful position as you can see the whole world more clearly than those who are older and have failing health. Hence, simply trust yourself, trust your feelings, and trust the Universe and success is yours. In reality, Life is not hard - life is made hard by the resistance offered. If you are ready to face resistance then life will be more colourful and beautiful.

However, you might have learned that the power was centered with those enlightened young people and "going with the flow" was an expression for not resisting the Universe and enjoying the ride in their own way. In fact, it has been found that joy and success is the key to manifesting anything and everything you desire in your day-to-day life. Now at this juncture, you are at a point in your life where you are mature enough to form your own opinions but still young enough not to be blinded to the amazing power of joy for yourself and to proceed in the right direction. Always make a habit of listening to those who make sense to you but listening much harder to those who make your heart sing, even if their words seem strange can prove fatal for you. It is all up to you in taking the final call. That singing you hear in your heart is your guidance system and it is both more powerful and more accurate than your logical thought so that you can reach your destination.

Recent teenager trends:

Wearing, trading and fighting for their snapbacks until they get enough HP to evolve into a pair of limited-edition sneakers has been a recent trend of the teenagers. Most of the teenagers have an easy access to an array of online pornography which can only be described as “horrifying” from the age of, well, whatever age you can circumvent a parental control. Parents have to ensure that their children are not getting derailed from their chosen path.
How to motivate the teenagers:

We are all pretty familiar with the long list of teenage stereotypes like the bookworm, the nerd, the attention seeker, the jock, the cheerleader, the weird, the rebel, the popular, and so on. There are other characteristics too which are equally important to consider in terms of the type of person your teenager happens to be and motivate them in the right direction. Certainly those characteristics will determine the best approach in how to motivate teenagers displaying them and guiding them in the right direction.

The Self-Starter:
The self-starter persons are more responsible and they take their responsibilities very seriously at every field. When you have teenagers with this characteristic, you don’t have to tell them the same thing over and over again as it may mislead them. The self-starter persons tend to be self-disciplined and comfortable working alone for the whole time. This is the kind of student that will come home and immediately get to work on homework assignments regularly without being asked to do so and they maintain this rhythm for a long time. Because the student knows he/she needs to get his studies done before being allowed to do anything else and in this case you just need to keep track of them.

The Easily Distracted:
Some of the individual often tries something to be very popular. He/she wants to have lot of friends and know a lot of people so that the person will get a lot of attention. He/she may even enjoy being the center of attention and always he/she expect the same from everybody. He/she is likely to have a very active mind, very interested in all kinds of things and wants to be involved with all the activities. This kind of curiosity as the center of attraction will take him from one thing to another very easily and he/she will think differently. Hence, from the above fact it can be concluded that, the teenager is easily distracted. For the parent, it will be a huge burden and it means being prepared to constantly remind him of what he/she needs to be doing so that the parent can ensure that their children are heading towards the right direction.

He/she has not yet learned how to focus his/her attention on one thing and stay with it until completion, which is considered as an important aspect to be successful. He/she may start out pretty well but if something catches his/her attention he/she may drop the current task completely to chase after the distraction and this will lead towards the path of destruction. This kind of teenager certainly requires a lot of time and patience to help them in developing good habits. It is likely that it is the one thing he/she can focus on the task to ensure a bright future. As you instruct your teenager you may point this out to him/her and certainly it will give him/her a concrete visual picture of what you're trying to convey to make their career a bright one.
