ICSE, ISC results make AP proud

AP has reason to be proud.
Students from the state dominated the ICSE class X and ISC class XII results with an impressive pass percentage of 99.07 and 94.77 respectively. This was announced by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations on Friday. Girls outperformed boys with a higher pass percentage.

Several city students came out with flying colours this year by scoring over 90 per cent marks, while many ICSE schools secured 100 per cent results.

According to Gerry Arathoon, chief executive & secretary, CISCE, “While 6,321 students from 85 ICSE schools from Andhra Pradesh appeared for class X exams, it was just 803 students from 17 ISC schools for Class XII exams.“ Of them, 3,186 boys (98.76%) and 3,076 girls (99.39 per cent) were successful in class X exams, while 40 boys and 19 girls have failed.

In ISC exams, 333 boys (90.74 per cent) and 428 girls (98.17 per cent) have passed in class XII exams, while 34 boys and 8 girls didn't get through.

Overall, 1.40 lakh students for class X exams and 64,000 for class XII exams from India and abroad have appeared for exams this year. The pass percentage was 98.20 in class X exams and 95.15 for class XII.

Students of Sri Aurobindo International School, Vidyanagar, excelled by securing 100 per cent results in both class X and class XII exams.

Dr Chhalamayi Reddy, principal, Sri Aurobindo International School, said all the students of the third batch of ISC have cleared the exams with good score. While Vinay Kumar stood first in the school with a score of 310 out of 400 marks (77.5%) in ISC, Shaswati Pushti scored 570 out of 600 marks (95%) in ICSE. For Nasr School, the ICSE class X topper was Harshita Jhawar who scored 96 per cent marks.
Rithika Ramchandani scored 100 marks in Maths. The ISC class XII topper from Nasr was Anusha Sundar who scored 96.75 per cent marks.
