Workshop on university rankings at TSCHE

The representatives of Times Higher Education-World University Rankings shared their best practices apart from critically analysing the shortcomings in Indian universities at a workshop organised by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) here on Thursday.

The workshop was attended by Ritin Malhotra, regional director (south Asia); Nicki Horseman, lead, higher education and Justin Tay, GM (ASIA), all from Times Higher Education-World University Rankings apart from Navin Mittal, Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Harpreet Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor of Telangana and Vice-Chancellors.

TSCHE Chairman T. Papi Reddy said the meeting focused on rankings, the methodology behind them and the parameters that the Indian institutions were lacking in, in performing at the global level. He said the general opinion was that the international outreach of State universities was poor, while there was some progress in teaching, research, income from industry and citations.
