Transit campus of Central University inaugurated

The transit campus of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh was on Sunday inaugurated and dedicated to the nation by Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar at the IT Business Incubation Centre at the JNTU here.

In his inaugural address, Mr Javadekar said: “It is truly an honour to be here with you all and inaugurate the campus.”

He said the university had great potential to excel in teaching, research and innovation under the mentorship of the renowned University of Hyderabad (UoH).

He said the Central University would be developed as an institution of higher learning with stress on producing employable graduates. He thanked the State government for providing 491.30 acres for the prestigious project.

He reiterated that all the new Central institutions started in Andhra Pradesh by the Centre would have full funding.

Prof. Appa Rao Podile, Vice-Chancellor (University of Hyderabad) and Chairman of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh Society, thanked the MHRD for giving the mentorship to the UoH. Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Paritala Sunita, Yamini Bala, ZP chairman Pula Nagaraju, Anantapur Mayor M. Swaroopa, faculty of the UoH and the JNTU (A) attended the function.

Mr. Javadekar said the Centre was providing hundreds of crores to seven institutions in AP, but the AP government was resorting to false propaganda on this.
