189 students land jobs at Capgemini

Pay packages of up to Rs. 21 lakh offered

As many as 189 students of the MVGR College of Engineering in Vizianagaram were placed at Capgemini, a multinational business consultancy firm, according to vice principal Y.M.C. Sekhar and Dean (training and placements) M. Sunil Prakash.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, they said selection of so many students by one organisation was a major achievement for the college. They said each student would get Rs. 3.5 lakh per annum.

“So far, 26 companies including MAQ Software, Hyundai Mobis, Musigma, Accolite and Eevate have visited our college for recruitment in the academic year 2018-19. As many as 225 candidates have landed jobs with one of them being offered an annual pay package of Rs. 21 lakh. We hope all final year students would land jobs at reputed firms through recruitments in the coming months,” said Mr. Prakash.

‘Easy without backlogs’Deputy Dean Shaji Nair said students were asked to focus on communication skills and basics of subjects so that they could have more options.

“Students who did not have any backlogs are able to get jobs at reputed firms easily. Special orientation classes are being conducted for students of all branches including CSE, IT, ECE and EEE to meet the expectations of companies,” said Mr. Nair.
