Hyderabad: The Medical Council of India has approved a new government medical college in Nizamabad with an intake of 100 seats and two new private colleges, namely Malla Reddy Medical College for Women (Suraram) and Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences (LB Nagar), both in Hyderabad by 150 seats.

The approvals for three new private medical colleges, are still pending with the Medical Council of India.

The colleges are Maheshwara Medical College and TRR Medical College, both in Patancheru, and Viswa Bharathi Medical College in Kurnool. The chances of these colleges getting approval are almost nil.
